Dr. Valerie Henderson, PhD (Licensed Clinical Psychologist & Director)

Dr. Valerie Henderson, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Agency Director with over twenty years of experience in the behavioral and mental health field. She is deeply committed to providing high-quality, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care while leading organizations that promote wellness, equity, and community impact.

Throughout her career, Dr. Henderson has demonstrated a strong dedication to ethical practice and the advancement of behavioral health services across diverse populations. Her leadership reflects a thoughtful balance of clinical expertise, organizational vision, and advocacy for accessible, compassionate care.

As a mother of four, Dr. Henderson brings a grounded and empathetic perspective to both her clinical work and her leadership, valuing the importance of holistic well-being for individuals, families, and communities. Her work continues to be guided by integrity, collaboration, and a passion for improving mental health outcomes.

Ellie Musser (Service Facilitator & Array Provider)

Ellie Musser is a Service Facilitator at Steaming Ahead with Health Interventions. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and completed her Master’s degree in Health and Human Physiology with an emphasis in Child Life from the University of Iowa.

Ellie completed her clinical training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, and spent six years working as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Emergency Department at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison before transitioning into Service Facilitation. She brings extensive experience in client- and family-centered care and has supported children and adults from around the world through significant life transitions, including grief and loss.

With a deep appreciation for diversity and connection, Ellie believes that play is a universal language that fosters healing and understanding. She is dedicated to providing holistic, compassionate care and is a strong advocate for her clients, supporting them as they navigate complex systems and work toward their personal goals.

Outside of work, Ellie is an avid plant enthusiast with over 50 houseplants. She enjoys spending time outdoors at her family’s cabin in northern Wisconsin with her six nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved yellow lab, Nora.

AJ Davis (Psychotherapist, Service Facilitator & Array Provider)

AJ Davis is a CCS Psychotherapist, Service Facilitator, and Array Provider at Steaming Ahead With Health Interventions. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood University and has worked in the mental health field for more than a decade. Throughout her career, AJ has collaborated with a diverse range of clients, utilizing systems-based therapeutic interventions to support mental health and well-being.

Naturally curious and open-minded, AJ believes that effective therapeutic work begins with understanding each person within the context of their relationships and environments. She is particularly passionate about systems theory and values incorporating awareness of a client’s unique systems into comprehensive, individualized care.

Outside of work, AJ enjoys creative pursuits such as painting and sewing—activities that her two cats enthusiastically insist on helping with.

Jody Bell (Operations Manager & Client Rights Specialist)

Jody is the Operations Manager at Steaming Ahead With Health Interventions. Originally from Wisconsin, she graduated from Whitewater High School in 2006. Since then, she has dedicated her time to volunteering in various mental health and substance use settings by working with organizations such as NAMI Dane County, Shatterproof, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Jody has been in long term recovery for over a decade and is passionate about providing essential mental health and substance use resources to individuals within her network and advocating for those who lack access or the means to advocate for themselves within her community. Outside of work, Jody enjoys creating lasting memories with her spouse, Nadra and two dachshunds, Tucker and Queenie, as well as spending time with friends and family.
